Highlighting Canada's entrepreneurial spirit, our flagship National Investment Pitch Competition features six post-secondary student teams who will pitch their business ideas, leveraging the "Canada - Hong Kong Advantage", live to conference attendees and a panel of seasoned professionals for their shot at $50,000 in cash and prizes. 12:00 pm: Welcome Address

12:15 pm - 1:45 pm: Luncheon and Keynote Speaker

The keynote speaker will open the session with an update on how Asia and China’s economies are faring in an uncertain global environment, why Hong Kong continues to play a key role tapping into this market and how this affects Canada.

2:00 pm - 3:00pm: Panel #1 - The Belt and Road Initiative and Greater Bay Area

This panel discussion on the Belt and Road Initiative and Greater Bay Area will share insights on China’s ambitious foreign and economic policies, shed light on the opportunities for Canadian companies and how Hong Kong is strategically positioned to support your expansion efforts.

3:15 pm - 4:15 pm: Panel #2 - Fintech in Business

Hear first-hand from industry experts on developments in technology like fintech, cryptocurrency, and artificial intelligence to learn how to apply these advancements to benefit your business both locally and abroad.

4:30 pm - 5:30 pm: Panel #3 – Asian Inbound Investment

Discover how best to position your business to attract inbound investment from China and Hong Kong.

Business Leader Award

This annual award recognizes the success of a business leader who leverages the Canada - Hong Kong connection to grow a successful enterprise.  

Congratulations to JET Design Architect Inc., a Canadian architect form with a growing presence in Hong Kong and Asia. With creativity at the core of their business, JET’s unique designs blend the inspiration of nature with technology and tools from the aerospace, automotive and industrial design industries. JET won the open competition against 100 architect firms from around the globe to design its showcase M+ Pavilion in Hong Kong’s renowned West Kowloon Cultural District; building was completed just last year. Hong Kong’s first class reputation, educated designer talent pool and proximity to other Asian markets made setting up a subsidiary a logical choice for JET Design as they look to further expand their business in Asia.
