Sandra Yuk-Sim Wu is a senior executive and board director with more than 15 years of leadership experience across healthcare, academic medicine, postsecondary education, and community-serving organizations in Canada. She is recognized for advancing people strategy, organizational culture, and enterprise growth in complex, highly regulated, and unionized environments.
Sandra currently serves as Department Chair of Finance, Accounting and Legal Studies at Algonquin College. Her work focuses on workforce planning, talent development, equity, diversity, and inclusion, accreditation compliance, and aligning academic programming with evolving labour market and community needs.
Previously, Sandra was Executive Director and CAO for the Department of Medicine at The Ottawa Hospital, one of Canada’s largest academic medical departments. In this role, she led people, operations, governance, finance, and strategy for a multidisciplinary workforce of physicians, learners, staff, and volunteers, with accountability for a $40M operating budget. Her career also includes senior leadership roles at Accreditation Canada, the Canadian Pharmacists Association, and the Canadian Red Cross, supporting national healthcare standards, enterprise transformation, and international disaster response.
Sandra is an active board director with the HKCBA and serves as Canadian Delegation Leader for the Asia Summit on Global Health with the Hong Kong Trade Development Council. She brings deep expertise in governance, partnerships, population-health–aligned strategy, and cross-sector collaboration.
She holds an MBA, PMP designation, and executive education from MIT Sloan, and is fluent in English and Chinese.
